§ 18-4. Shooting, firing off gun, pistol, etc.

  • (a)

    Every person who wilfully shoots or fires off a gun, pistol or any firearm within the city limits, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished in accordance with section 1-10. Nothing contained in this section shall be construed to act as a hindrance to any officer in discharge of his official duty or to military personnel in the performance of their official duty or to legally established shooting ranges.

    (b)

    Firearms may be discharged at an indoor or outdoor rifle, pistol or shotgun shooting range located within the limits of a town or city or in a private dwelling if the shooting range is approved by the local governing body.
