§ 18-3. Inhalation of fumes or consumption of substances.

  • (a)

    Prohibited. No person shall, for the purpose of causing or resulting in a condition of intoxication, euphoria, excitement, exhilaration, stupefaction or dulling of the senses or nervous system, intentionally smell or inhale the fumes from any glue or similar toxic vapor, or consume or use any otherwise legal substance for this purpose. This section shall not apply to the inhalation or use of any anesthesia for medical or dental purposes, when administered or directed by a licensed physician, dentist or other authorized person.

    (b)

    Possession or transfer for unlawful purpose prohibited. No person shall, for the purpose of violating or aiding another to violate any provisions of this section, intentionally possess, buy, sell, transfer possession, or receive possession of any substance herein prohibited.

    (c)

    Penalty. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction, be punished in accordance with section 1-10.
